For the first time in the history of our church, our pastors are a husband and wife
team. Dr. Dan and Dr. Reppa are one of the few clergy couples who serve the same
church. In addition, North Scituate Baptist Church is the only known Baptist
church to be served by a married team in which both hold Doctor of Ministry
Degrees.
Rev. Dr. Daniel W. Cottrell
Born in 1950, Dr. Dan claims Grapeville, PA as his home town. He is the youngest
of four brothers, and his birth family still lives in southwestern Pennsylvania. Dr.
Dan was ordained in 1975. He served two pastorates in PA and one in MA before
coming to RI. His Doctorate is from Drew University in small group process.
Dr. Dan enjoys reading, hiking, music, and tennis. He has a great sense of humor
and a strong commitment to Jesus Christ. He married Dr. Reppa in 1977. They hav
e two children, Joshua and Rachel. The family moved to Scituate in June of 1993.

Rev. Dr. Reppa M. Cottrell
Also from southwestern PA, Dr. Reppa was born in 1951. She is the second child of
her parents and has an older sister and younger sister and brother.
Dr. Reppa taught high school math for seven years before entering full-time
ministry. Her Doctorate is in Group Spiritual Guidance from Andover Newton
Theological School. She was ordained in 1983. Dr. Reppa served one pastorate in
PA and one in MA before coming to RI.
Dr. Reppa enjoys the outdoors, tennis, hiking, fishing, and reading. She loves
