We love children!
In the summer there is a Children's Story during the worship service and then
children ages 2 - 10 are invited to participate in a time of learning and crafts.
This is held in Jordan Hall. There is a NURSERY for younger children
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the
kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Like Jesus, we love to see children
in our church! Children of all ages are encouraged to attend services each week.
Children’s bulletins are available to occupy and teach your child while he or she
is sitting in the sanctuary with you: the bulletins teach an age-appropriate
lesson, and include some graphics which your child can color quietly while
he/she enjoys the worship service. After the children’s story, children ages four
years and younger are cared for in the nursery. Children up to age ten may view
Christian videos during the sermon.
In between services, the children meet in our Jordan Hall for a “joyful noise”
before heading off to their classrooms with loving, enthusiastic teachers. There
are classrooms for the following groups: age 3-4 and grades K-1, 2-3, 4-6. During
the school year (Sept – June), children can be attending Sunday school classes
while their parents attend adult Christian education classes.
Sunday evenings at 6 p.m. youth from 7th – 12th grade meet for fun and Christian
fellowship. Participating in a Baptist Youth Fellowship (BYF) group enables
youth to share their faith journey with their peers, experience church in its many
guises, all in the company of adults who value the youth and feel called to
witness to the faith in youth ministry.
We also have an annual talent show, Vacation Bible School, and other events for
children!
